Paris-Malaquais School of Architecture welcomes you to the historic site of architectural teaching in France. This site has seen, since the beginning of the 19th century, generations of French and international architects, who have contributed to the evolution of the living environment throughout the world. It is up to today’s students to take over, in a world in complete upheaval, confronted with the crucial question of ecological transition as well as the digital revolution.
To meet these challenges, Malaquais students are supported by a team of nearly 300 teachers, with very varied profiles. The originality of the school is that it is organized into six educational departments, each made up of a group of teachers from several disciplines sharing the same vision of architecture. By interacting with each other, students learn to form their own beliefs.
The school is characterized by the important place given to research, which permeates the training offering from the undergraduate level. It has three research laboratories, with both different and complementary orientations.
Numerous facilities and resources are available to students. The library contains nearly 22,000 books, 400 journal titles, and 3,000 student works. The manufacturing, IT and photo/video workshops allow projects to be developed in completely renovated spaces.
The school is a partner member of PSL (Paris Sciences & Lettres), which is among the top French universities in international rankings. This allows students to benefit from cross-learning and dual courses set up with other PSL establishments, such as Mines Paris, the Ecole Normale Supérieure, Ecole des Arts Décoratifs, and others to come.
Studying in the heart of Paris means having the chance to evolve in an exceptional cultural environment. The Louvre, the Musée d’Orsay, the Comédie Française, the Monnaie de Paris, the Institut de France, etc. are located a few dozen or hundreds of meters from the school, which is linked by agreements to many of these institutions.
International openness is also one of Malaquais’ strengths, which has concluded more than fifty agreements with Europe, Asia, North Africa, the Middle East, the Near East, North America and from South.
