The Paris-Malaquais School of Architecture network of international partnerships includes architecture and urban planning faculties, academies, technical universities and school of art and design. The school has signed more than 50 international partnerships with institutions in about twenty countries :

→ more than 20 bilateral partners (outside Europe)
→ more than 30 Erasmus+ partners

Every year the school welcomes roughly 80 foreign students on exchange programms for one semester or one academic year. The students apply to Paris-Malaquais School of Architecture through the international relations department of their institution of origin that submits their application.

As most of the teaching is in French, a minimum level of B1 is required to qualify for an exchange programm. Courses in French as foreign language are offered to all foreign students at the school : two intensive weeks in September and an extensive course throughout the year.

As part of the partnership between PSL University and Paris-Malaquais School of Architecture, foreign students attending courses on exchange programms can benefit from the PSL Welcome

Desk service, which :

• before they arrive, helps them complete the main administrative procedures, helps them find accommodation and puts them in contact with PSL students ;
• when they arrive, welcomes them during its opening hours to review all the formalities to be accomplished ;
• during the academic year, provides them with support and guidance in their various procedures or to find a student’s job and propose events throughout the year.

Roughly 80 Paris-Malaquais School of Architecture’s students go on international exchanges every year.  They all are granted at least one monthly allowance.

Twenty or so students do an internship abroad (internship in Europe qualify for an Erasmus+ allowance capped at the available budget). In addition, a school partnership with the Renzo Piano Foundation offers one master’s student every year an excellence grant to do a six-month internship in the Renzo Piano Building Workshop agency in Genoa, Italy.
