La guerre, bien présente même loin de nos villes centralisées, laisse des traces profondes, notamment chez les blessés psychiques des armées, souvent invisibles et marginalisés. Face à la haine et la vio-lence des guerres, l’architecture seule ne peut arrêter les conflits. Mais il est toujours possible de construire après, relier, comprendre aussi. Le projet s’intéresse avec humanité à ces individus blessés et cherche à trouver un espace pour leur reconnexion à la ville et à eux-mêmes. Il aborde aussi la réintégration des sites militaires inoccupés au sein de la ville. Le projet devient un jeu de seuils qui apaisent les frontières entre l’opacité militaire et la vie urbaine, pour, subtilement, redonner sens et usage à ces lieux de mémoire, et offrir un espace à ceux qui portent les stigmates invisibles des guerres contemporaines.

IN THE STORM, on the threshold of worlds
War is very much with us, even far from our centralized cities, and leaves deep scars, particularly on the psychologically wounded, who are often invisible and marginalized. Faced with the hatred and violence of war, architecture alone cannot stop conflict. But it is always possible to build after, to continue, to connect and to understand. The project takes a humane interest in these wounded individuals, and seeks to find a space for their reconnection to the city and to themselves. It also addresses the reintegration of unoccupied military sites into the city. The project becomes an interplay of thresholds that blur the boundaries between military opacity and urban life, subtly restoring meaning and use to these places of memory, and offering a space to those who bear the invisible stigma of contemporary wars.
