La semaine internationale 2026

Du 13 au 17 avril 2026, la première Semaine internationale de Paris‑Malaquais a rassemblé étudiants, doctorants, enseignants et personnels administratifs autour de rencontres et de déjeuners dédiés aux opportunités de mobilité et à la présentation des partenaires universitaires internationaux.

La semaine a débuté par une série d’événements : sessions d’information, interventions, retours d’expérience et temps d’échange. Elle s’est poursuivie avec plusieurs ateliers thématiques consacrés à la présentation des nouveaux partenariats, à notre université européenne EELISA, au consortium de mobilité, ainsi qu’à la préparation des départs pour les mobilités 2026‑2027.

Un immense merci à l’ensemble des étudiants, personnels et intervenants dont l’engagement a rendu cette semaine possible. Par votre implication, vous avez contribué à en faire un temps fort de dialogue interculturel, de partage et d’ouverture internationale.

International Week 2026

From 13 to 17 April 2026, the first Paris-Malaquais International Week brought together students, PhD candidates, teaching staff and administrative staff for meetings and lunches focusing on mobility opportunities and presentations by international academic partners.

The week began with a series of events: information sessions, presentations, testimonials and opportunities for discussion. It continued with several themed workshops focusing on the presentation of new partnerships, our European university EELISA, the mobility consortium, and preparations for the 2026–2027 mobility programmes.

A huge thank you to all the students, staff and speakers whose commitment made this week possible. Through your involvement, you have helped to make it a highlight of intercultural dialogue, sharing and international openness.

La Fondation Renzo Piano propose

Une bourse à l’agence Renzo Piano Building Workshop (RPBW)

La Fondation Renzo Piano propose une bourse de cinq mois, de mi-septembre à mi-février, destinée à un(e) étudiant(e) en Master 2. Le ou la lauréat(e) aura l’opportunité de rejoindre l’agence RPBW à Gênes pour un stage. Cette bourse couvre le voyage et les frais de logement sur place.

La Fondation Renzo Piano attribue également une bourse de voyage autour du monde à trois étudiants de l’enseignement supérieur. Cette initiative vise à explorer l’architecture du XXe siècle. Parmi les lauréats figure des étudiants de l’École d’architecture Paris-Malaquais — PSL.

The Renzo Piano Foundation offers:

A scholarship at the Renzo Piano Building Workshop (RPBW)

The Renzo Piano Foundation offers a five-month scholarship, from mid-September to mid-February, for a Master’s 2 student. The winner will have the opportunity to join the RPBW agency in Genoa to work there. This scholarship covers travel and accomodation expenses.

A Fondazione “Tells” Exhibitions Travel Grant 

The Renzo Piano Foundation also awards a round-the-world travel grant to three higher education students. This initiative aims to explore 20th-century architecture. Among the winners are students from Paris-Malaquais School of Architecture — PSL.

Le partenariat entre l’École nationale supérieure d’architecture Paris‑Malaquais — PSL et la Villa Albertine (services culturels français aux Etats-Unis) permet d’accueillir un ou deux étudiants américains pour une année d’études à Paris‑Malaquais — PSL dans le cadre des Bourses Lafayette (Lafayette Fellowship).

Ce partenariat offre également la possibilité à des étudiants de master de l’école d’effectuer un stage d’été de huit semaines en binôme avec des étudiants américains dans de prestigieux cabinets d’architecture. Plus d’information : Stage Franco-américain

The partnership between Paris-Malaquais School of architecture — PSL and the Villa Albertine (French cultural services in the United States) enables one or two American students to spend a year studying at Paris-Malaquais — PSL as part of the Lafayette Fellowships.

This partnership also offers the school’s Master’s students the opportunity to undertake an eight-week summer placement, working in pairs with American students, at prestigious architectural practices. Further information: Franco-American Summer Academy in Architecture

Quadriennale de Prague 2027

La Quadriennale de Prague (République Tchèque) est l’événement international de référence pour la scénographie et l’architecture de scène, et de façon élargie associé à l’art contemporain, à la performance et aux nouvelles dramaturgies de l’espace.  En 2027, elle célèbrera ses 60 ans d’existence. Offrant tous les quatre ans une vision nouvelle sur cette discipline, la Quadriennale s’est affirmée comme une plateforme incontournable pour la formation et les échanges d’expériences à l’échelle internationale. Lieu de réflexion et manifestation foisonnante, elle est à la fois une invitation au dialogue et l’occasion d’une compétition internationale divisée en trois sections : « Pays & Régions », « Écoles » et « Architecture de théâtre ».

La spécificité du projet français de pavillon des écoles a permis de fédérer les 10 établissements supérieurs enseignant la scénographie en France pour constituer la « Neuvième école ». Composée d’étudiants et de jeunes diplômés issus des écoles partenaires il compose une équipe menant réflexion, conception et production du pavillon.  Pour les accompagner Marc Laine, Alice Zeniter et Stephan Zimmerli ont été désignés commissaires de Pavillon Français « Écoles» . Cette dynamique est porteuse de multiples collaborations, ainsi qu’un vecteur de professionnalisation pour les étudiants impliqués. La participation de Paris-Malaquais-PSL est portée par Rafaël Magrou.

ARTCENA coordonne la présence française à cet événement en lien étroit avec un comité de pilotage composé du ministère de la Culture, de l’Institut français et de l’Institut français de Prague.

Prague Quadrennial 2027

The Prague Quadrennial (Czech Republic) is the leading international event for scenography and stage architecture, and, more broadly, is associated with contemporary art, performance and new spatial dramaturgies. In 2027, it will celebrate its 60th anniversary. Offering a fresh perspective on this discipline every four years, the Quadrennial has established itself as an essential platform for training and the exchange of experiences on an international scale. A forum for reflection and a vibrant event, it is both an invitation to dialogue and an opportunity for an international competition divided into three sections: ‘Countries & Regions’, ‘Schools’ and ‘Theatre Architecture’.

The unique nature of the French ‘Schools’ pavilion project has brought together the 10 higher education institutions teaching scenography in France to form the ‘Ninth School’. Comprising students and recent graduates from the partner schools, it forms a team responsible for the reflection, design and production of the pavilion. To support them, Marc Laine, Alice Zeniter and Stephan Zimmerli have been appointed curators of the French ‘Schools’ Pavilion. This initiative fosters numerous collaborations and serves as a pathway to professional development for the students involved. Paris-Malaquais-PSL’s participation is led by Rafaël Magrou.

ARTCENA is coordinating France’s participation in this event in close collaboration with a steering committee comprising the Ministry of Culture, the Institut français and the Institut français de Prague.

Studio AlUla

Depuis 2024, l’ENSA Paris-Malaquais PSL coopère avec la Villa Hegra, l’Agence française pour AlUla et la Commission royale pour AlUla (Arabie Saoudite) sur des projets d’innovation architecturale pour le développement du territoire d’AlUla.

Cette coopération exceptionnelle a permis à des étudiants de Paris-Malaquais, de l’ENSA Paris-Val de Seine et de l’Université Prince Sultan de Riyadh d’imaginer des solutions architecturales et environnementales lors d’ateliers communs en Arabie Saoudite. Ces travaux ont fait l’objet d’une exposition à la Galerie Callot de l’école en 2025. Meriem Chabani a accompagné ce projet en compagnie de Gilles Delaleix et Colin Reynier.

Un nouvel atelier commun a eu lieu à l’automne 2025 entre jeunes architectes et urbanistes français et saoudiens. Deux étudiantes de Paris-Malaquais ont participé à cette deuxième édition.

Studio AlUla

Since 2024, Paris-Malaquais School of architecture – PSL has been collaborating with Villa Hegra, the French Agency for AlUla and the Royal Commission for AlUla (Saudi Arabia) on architectural innovation projects for the development of the AlUla region.

This exceptional collaboration has enabled students from Paris-Malaquais, ENSA Paris-Val de Seine and Prince Sultan University in Riyadh to design architectural and environmental solutions during joint workshops in Saudi Arabia. This work was showcased in an exhibition at the school’s Galerie Callot in 2025. Meriem Chabani supervised this project alongside Gilles Delaleix and Colin Reynier.

A further joint workshop took place in autumn 2025, bringing together young French and Saudi architects and urban planners. Two students from Paris-Malaquais took part in this second edition.

Depuis 2018 l’École d’architecture Paris-Malaquais — PSL propose à ses étudiants un voyage à Rome d’une semaine dans le cadre de leur 2e année de licence. Ce voyage s’inscrit particulièrement dans la continuité des cours d’histoire de l’architecture, de l’antiquité à aujourd’hui.

Il s’agit de faire comprendre au futur architecte que le passé donne des clés de lecture sur le présent, et que chaque cours d’histoire permet de construire un socle de connaissances directement transposable dans les questionnements contemporains. Les étudiant(e)s ont ainsi l’opportunité de se familiariser et d’acquérir les connaissances de base de l’architecture antique, moderne et du XXe siècle.

Une confrontation avec l’espace urbain de la Rome palimpseste fait partie intégrante du voyage, des sites antiques au courant moderniste italien du XXe siècle, sans oublier les palais de la Renaissance. Les élèves doivent effectuer des dessins (façades, plan d’un bâtiment) et présenter, seuls ou en binômes, un édifice parmi une liste qui leur est fournie. A leur retour, les étudiant(e) restituent leur expérience sous forme d’exposition (dessins ou photos) dans un espace commun de l’Ecole.

Since 2018, Paris-Malaquais School of Architecture — PSL has been offering its students a week-long trip to Rome as part of their second year of the Bachelor’s degree. This trip is particularly designed to build on the architecture history modules, covering the period from antiquity to the present day.

The aim is to help future architects understand that the past provides insights into the present, and that each history module helps build a foundation of knowledge that can be directly applied to contemporary issues. Thus, students have the opportunity to familiarise themselves with and acquire a basic understanding of ancient, modern and 20th-century architecture.

An exploration of the urban landscape of Rome – a city layered with history – forms an integral part of the trip, ranging from ancient sites to the 20th-century Italian modernist movement, not forgetting the Renaissance palaces. Students are required to produce drawings (facades, building plans) and, either individually or in pairs, to present a building from a list provided to them. On their return, the students present their experiences in the form of an exhibition (drawings or photographs) in a communal space at the School.
