À travers la brume, les roches et la lande, se dresse la commune de Brasparts.
Née de l’exploitation des ressources aux abords du marais de Yeun Elez, elle fut l’une des communes les plus importantes des Monts d’Arrée.
Autrefois pôle économique, culturel et social le plus influent du monde rural en centre-Finistère, les affres de la modernité ont eu raison de ces anciennes dynamiques.
Cependant, l’exode urbain, intensifié à la suite du Covid, inverse cette tendance et la courbe démographie de Brasparts recommence doucement à croître. Ces néo-ruraux qui réinvestissent petit à petit la commune, peinent à occuper le Centre-Bourg. La santé, l’alimentation et les disponibilités locatives viennent d’autant plus alourdir un sentiment d’obsolescence communale.
Un paradoxe existe toutefois, entre ces besoins et le nombre d’édifices inoccupés, voire abandonnés. Parmi eux on compte l’ancien collège de Brasparts, bâtiment emblématique de la IIIe République à l’architecture archétypale omniprésente dans le Finistère.
De cette manière, on interroge la redynamisation d’un bourg rural à travers la réhabilitation d’un patrimoine commun délaissé.
Through the mist, rocks and moorland, rises the commune of Brasparts.
Born of the exploitation of resources on the edge of the Yeun Elez marshes, it was one of the most important communes in the Monts d’Arrée.
Once one of the most influential economic, cultural and social centres of the rural world in central Finistère, the ravages of modernity have taken their toll on these ancient dynamics. However, the urban exodus, intensified in the wake of Covid, reversed this trend and the demographic curve in Brasparts slowly began to grow again. These newcomers, who are gradually returning to the commune, are struggling to occupy the town centre. Health, food and rental availability all add to a feeling of communal obsolescence.
However, there is a paradox between these needs and the number of unoccupied or even abandoned buildings. These include the former Collège de Brasparts, an emblematic building of the Third Republic, with archetypal architecture that is omnipresent in Finistère.
In this way, we’re looking at ways of revitalising a rural village by rehabilitating a neglected part of the community’s heritage.
