Le territoire contemporain est traversé par des infrastructures de transport en voie d’obsolescence. Parmi elles, les stations-service, interrogent notre capacité à réemployer, reconfigurer plutôt qu’à produire du déchet.
À l’heure de la « transition écologique » annoncée, le projet prend pour objet la station-service comme ressource. À travers une démarche d’inventaire, de typologie et de cartographie. Il explore la transformation de ces structures — canopées, réservoirs, enseignes — comme gisement d’une architecture post-carbone. À travers
un protocole reproductible de transformation contextuelle, fondé sur le réemploi, il propose des scénarios de réagencement de ces structures existantes. Chaque fragment hérité devient un support de nouveaux usages, qui dessinent un passage : ils font de la fin d’un monde mécanique le début d’un monde relationnel.
Cette démarche revendique un regard critique sur l’obsolescence de l’architecture et une esthétique du résidu comme matière active du projet, où l’architecte endosse un nouveau rôle de médiateur entre mémoire industrielle et enjeux contemporains.
The contemporary territory is traversed by transport infrastructures facing obsolescence. Among them, gas stations question our ability to reuse and reconfigure rather than produce waste.
In the context of the announced “ecological transition,” the project takes the gas station as a resource. Through an approach based on inventory, typology, and cartography, it explores the transformation of these structures — canopies, tanks, signs — as a reservoir for post-carbon architecture.
Through a reproducible protocol of contextual transformation based on reuse, it proposes scenarios for the rearrangement of these existing structures. Each inherited fragment becomes a support for new uses, outlining a transition: they turn the end of a mechanical world into the beginning of a relational one.
This approach calls for a critical perspective on architectural obsolescence and embraces an aesthetic of residue as an active material of the project — where the architect takes on a new role as mediator between industrial memory and contemporary challenges.
