Le projet propose la réactivation du terminal désaffecté de l’aéroport Sabiha Gökçen à Istanbul, encore situé en zone franche. En s’appuyant sur le potentiel spatial et administratif de ce lieu oublié, il s’agit de détourner un régime d’exception au profit d’un programme public, culturel et accessible. Ce projet agit comme une brèche dans le système, il révèle ce qui était dissimulé, donne accès à ce qui était réservé à quelques-uns. Il interroge la manière dont certains espaces sont produits, puis abandonnés, sans jamais être pensés pour être transformés. Ici, le terminal devient support d’un nouveau récit, il ne s’agit pas d’en effacer les règles, mais de les réorienter. Cette approche propose une architecture ancrée, capable de relier, révéler, et proposer.

The project proposes the reactivation of the disused terminal at Sabiha Gökçen Airport in Istanbul, which remains within a free zone. By leveraging the spatial and administrative potential of this forgotten site, the aim is to subvert a regime of exception in favor of a public, cultural, and accessible program. This project acts as a breach in the system: it unveils what was concealed and grants access to what was once reserved for a select few. It questions how certain spaces are produced and then abandoned, without ever being envisioned for transformation. Here, the terminal becomes the foundation for a new narrative. It is not a matter of erasing the rules, but of redirecting them. This approach calls for an architecture that is grounded, capable of connecting, revealing, and proposing.
